The Boates Family Foundation Contributes $300,000 to KinVillage’s ‘It Takes A Village’ Campaign

KinVillage’s It Takes A Village campaign has received a transformative boost thanks to an extraordinary $300,000 donation from the Boates Family Foundation. This generous contribution will fund the construction of a new kitchen in KinVillage’s Day Program space for Older Adults—a vital resource that provides seniors with opportunities for social engagement and offers caregivers much-needed respite.

“We are very proud to support KinVillage’s It Takes A Village campaign and the creation of a new space that supports the families of Delta, a cause our foundation fully embraces,” says Rick Boates, president of Unitech Construction and representative of the Boates Family Foundation. “This wonderful program provides essential resources within our community, which not only speaks to our foundation’s mission to foster growth and inspire positive change but resonates deeply with us as a family.”

To date, KinVillage has raised $2 million toward its ambitious $3 million goal. The campaign aims to build a new Day Program space to serve older adults living with dementia and other challenges, while also supporting their caregivers.

“This generous gift has a profound impact, enabling us to enhance vital services, expand our capacity, and provide even greater support to adults living with dementia and other challenges,” says Jennifer Fisher, CEO of KinVillage. “The Boates family’s compassion and commitment to our community inspire us all.”

The new kitchen space will play a central role in fostering connection and engagement for program participants. Beyond being a functional space for meal preparation, the kitchen will serve as a hub for group activities, culinary demonstrations, and shared experiences that enrich the lives of seniors.

Kristen Thomas, Director of Development at KinVillage, emphasizes the significance of the donation: “On behalf of KinVillage, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Boates Family Foundation for their generous $300,000 donation to the It Takes A Village Day Program campaign. These funds create a much-needed kitchen space, supporting our mission to alleviate caregiver burnout and provide essential respite for those caring for seniors. Your kindness is a shining example of compassion for both seniors and their caregivers.”

With the end goal in sight, KinVillage is calling on the Delta community to help bridge the gap and reach the final $1 million needed to bring this transformative project to life. Every contribution, big or small, helps create a safe, engaging environment for seniors and ensures caregivers receive the respite they need.
