Assisted Living
KinVillage's Assisted Living housing offers a secure and friendly environment that promotes friendships, personal interests and a high quality of life. The facility provides hospitality, health and wellness services to support residents' independence. Monthly rates are calculated based on income, with an additional $18 charge for Hydro. Hospitality services include meals, housekeeping and some laundry, while regular health services include medication and 24-hour on-site emergency response. ASSISTED LIVING DETAILS
KinVillage's assisted living apartments offer secure and independent support for older adults. The program is Accreditation Canada accredited, and includes the following services and supports:

Two meals per day (lunch and dinner) are provided in the dining room on the first floor.
Breakfast is available for an additional fee.
Serving times are flexible.
Seasonal menus offer a variety of meal items.
Monthly theme specials provide additional variety.
An "Always Available" menu is provided to accommodate individual resident choice or preference.
Special diets, including vegetarian options, can be accommodated.
Room service for meals may be available for tenants with episodic illness or injury.
Afternoon coffee/tea and snacks are served

½ hour of light suite cleaning and changing of linens once per week at a scheduled time.

Flat linens and towels are laundered once per week.
If residents are unable to do their personal laundry using the complimentary laundry rooms on each floor, an additional laundry service is available for a fee.

Regular assistance with daily activities such as dressing, grooming, nail care, mobility, eating, and bathing is provided.

Extra showers or bathing services are available in on-site accessible bathtubs for an additional charge.
Foot care and hairdressing services are available on-site at additional costs.
Appointments must be booked to see the Foot Care Nurse or Hairdresser.

A resident lounge, meeting room, and large patio overlooking the adjacent park are located on the first floor.
Smaller lounges with a small library and computer for resident use are located on the other two floors.
Residents have a free membership to the adjacent community center and can participate in seniors-focused programs and events.
Activities at the community center include movies, dances, book sales, and access to the Unique Boutique and BUENOS DIAS CAFÉ.
Assisted living residents to have access to their own recreation program with senior-focused activities like fitness, games, art, happy hour, music, and bus outings.
All apartments are one-bedroom, unfurnished suites with a safe bathroom, full kitchen, living and dining areas, and a private balcony or patio. LifeLine wearable pendants and wall-mounted call units are installed in all suites and stairwells to provide help and security. Smoking is not permitted inside the buildings, but designated outdoor smoking areas are available. Pets are allowed for visits, but they cannot live in the suites. Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use are allowed, while scooters can only be used outside with designated parking and plug-ins available on the first floor. Telephone service is available for an additional fee of $20 per month. Free undesignated parking is available to residents and visitors.
