KinVillage COVID-19 Update - August 14, 2020

  • COVID-free for 150 days since the public health emergency was declared in BC March 17, 2020.

  • Social visits for the Care Home and Assisted Living with residents and their designated visitors (one per resident) are going well.  There are no changes to the current restrictions set forth by Dr Bonnie Henry Provincial Health Officer.  We continue to await the promised government funding to support visits and we are doing our best to provide as many visiting opportunities as possible at this time.

For Care Home visits – we appreciate your patience and understanding as we schedule visits to ensure all residents and their designated visitor have had a chance to have an in-person visit.  Please arrive 15 minutes before to allow time for you to access the east side of the Community Centre where staff will meet you and complete the screening process.

A reminder that visits must be booked in advance:

  • For Assisted Living – through Director of Housing Carol Howard or Wellness Coordinator Pushpa Persaud
  • For Care Home -social visits Social WorkerAnna Shott continues to reach out to designated visitors.  Glass door visits may be arranged through reception (ch-reception@kinvillage.org or 604-943-0155 ext 221)

We recommend visitors complete the Family Caregivers of BC and SafeCare BC COVID-19: Social Visitation Essentials Course.  It is a self-paced, on-line course intended for those who are visiting. To learn more on how to be well prepared for visits during COVID-19 pandemic please visit:
