COVID-19 Update – October 13, 2021

The Provincial Health Officer and the Ministry of Health announced updated requirements for visitation in long-term care and seniors’ assisted living facilities.Effective October 26, 2021 (instead of November 30, 2021 as originally communicated by the PHO/MOH):

  • Visitors must demonstrate they are fully vaccinated to enter South and West Courts (excluding children under 12 years or those with an approved medical exemption)

Exceptions related to compassionate care such as end-of-life care, will be considered on an individual case basis with additional preventative measures required to support visits involving partially or unvaccinated individuals.If you have not obtained your vaccine passport yet but are fully vaccinated, your vaccination card will be accepted for now and ask that you register for your vaccine passport as soon as possible.The link to register is at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof1 Full vaccination/immunization for COVID-19 is considered as seven days after receiving the full series of approved COVID-19 vaccine or a combination of approved vaccines.
