Happy Anniversary Assisted Living!

The residents and staff of KinVillage’s Assisted Living are a sociable bunch, so, not surprisingly, they welcomed the chance to get together on the afternoon of October 29^th and celebrate the 10^th Anniversary of Assisted Living at KinVillage.The recent celebration was thoroughly enjoyed by the residents, staff, volunteers, management and Board members. Capably hosted by MC Brian Winger from our Recreation team, greetings were brought by Carol Howard, Director of Housing and by Donna Ellis, CEO.  Some personal experiences were shared by two residents, each of whom has lived in KinVillage’s Assisted Living since its doors first opened, and the presentation of beautiful bouquets to each, was a highlight.  Following refreshments and the serving of a delicious cake, pianist Brenda Baird kept the party going with well-recognized tunes, to which those in attendance sang along, clapped their hands, tapped their toes and danced.ASSISTED LIVING AT KINVILLAGE:KinVillage’s South Court originally opened in 1982 and was converted to Assisted Living in 2005.  Significant renovations to the building and suites were made possible through the B.C. Government’s Independent Living BC Initiative and with ongoing support from Fraser Health and BC Housing. Now, KinVillage provides a much needed and highly valued service; a truly unique combination of services that support independence and security. Last year, residents gave KinVillage an overall satisfaction rating of 95%, the highest score in the Fraser Health region!
