COVID-19 Update – February 25, 2022

West Court – The most recent cases identified have been two residents experiencing mild symptoms who tested positive for COVID-19 on February 23; one on the First Floor neighborhood, and one on 2CD neighborhood.As of today:

  • Parkview neighborhood – no active cases
  • 1st Floor neighborhood (11 residents affected) – 5 remain active
  • 2AB neighborhood (7 residents affected) – 4 remain active
  • 2CD neighborhood (14 residents affected) – 5 remain active, 1 test pending.

We remain on enhanced monitoring (with the exception of Parkview):

  • Residents and staff are screened twice daily
  • Staff continue to wear masks and safety goggles, perform frequent hand hygiene, and are cohorted where feasible
  • If residents or staff start showing symptoms (typical symptoms have been runny nose, congestion, raspy voice, fatigue), they are tested
  • Residents that test positive for COVID-19 are isolated in their room as much as possible and placed on contact precautions
  • The period of isolation is 5 days unless they continue to have symptoms
  • The Medical Health Officer has directed that 1st Floor and 2CD neighborhoods remain on isolation for a few more days as an added precaution
  • Communal dining is stopped and residents are served meals in their room
  • Group activities are stopped. Where possible, one to one activities and virtual connections continue to occur with well residents

At this time, Essential Visitors are only permitted on 1st Floor, 2AB and 2CD neighborhoods. Both Essential and Designated Visitors are now permitted in the Parkview neighborhood.
