COVID-19 Update - November 6, 2020
We currently are outbreak-free in all our buildings.
Visitors:
- On November 3, Isobel Mackenzie, British Columbia’s Seniors Advocate, released the results of a province-wide survey “Staying Apart to Stay Safe” on the impact of visit restrictions at long-term care and assisted living homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Seniors Advocate called upon the province to improve access to people living in long-term care and assisted living. The report can be found at Staying Apart to Stay Safe.
- Until we receive direction from Fraser Health there are no changes to the current visitor program at KinVillage’s Long-term Care home and Assisted Living residence. Once we receive direction from Fraser Health we will communicate further with you.
Mask Use:
- Ministry of Health has developed a new policy for mask use in Long-Term Care and Assisted Living settings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective immediately KinVillage’s West Court long-term care and South Court assisted living will be implementing the policy:
Reminder – Personal Health Checks:
-
- It is important that we continue to pay close attention to how we are feeling, by doing our own daily personal health checks, and if we are feeling unwell to stay home and away from others. If you have any symptoms, contact 811 or your health care provider to arrange for testing. The health and safety of our residents and staff is our number one priority.
This Remembrance Day, KinVillage would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all our resident veterans. Without your courage, dedication and sacrifice, we would not have the freedoms and quality of life we enjoy in Canada today.Thank you.
