FAQ:

  1. I don’t know how to curl… then what?

No worries if you're new to curling! Before the event starts, there will be a 45-minute clinic where an instructor will teach you the basics. You'll learn how to stay safe, protect the ice, and, most importantly, have fun!

  2. What do I wear?

You’ll want to dress in warm, comfortable layers and consider bringing mittens or gloves. You are required to bring a clean pair of running shoes, free from grit and stones, as street shoes are not permitted on the ice.

  3. Do I need my own equipment? We supply all the necessary equipment, including modified delivery equipment, so no need to bring your own.

  4. Where is the event located?

The event will take place at Tunnel Town Curling Club, South Delta Recreation Centre, 1720 56 St, Delta, BC.

  5. What’s included with my ticket?

Each ticket includes one food and one drink ticket. Social tickets are also available for those who want to enjoy the event from the sidelines without joining a team.

  6. Is the ice slippery?

The ice can be slippery! Please be cautious when you first step on. Keep an eye out for stray rocks and avoid letting rocks slide onto another sheet or hit the hack. Always keep your feet on the ice—walk or slide, but never hop or run.

  7. Can we eat or drink while curling?

Food is not allowed on the ice. You may bring a travel cup (with a lid) and keep it on the back boards, but we do not encourage drinking alcohol while playing as you are on ice. Save the fun for the Ice Chip Lounge after your game, where you can enjoy your food and drinks.

  8. How does my participation make a difference?

All proceeds from this event support the "It Takes a Village" Campaign, helping us create a new space for the Day Program for Older Adults. Together, we are ensuring seniors have a safe, engaging environment, and caregivers receive the respite they need to prevent burnout.

  9. Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes! A tax receipt will be provided for your donation and sent via email.
