COVID-19 Update – September 4, 2020

September 4, 2020

As advised in yesterday’s bulletin, an outbreak has been declared in KinVillage’s South Court, home to our assisted living residents and some independent living residents. One staff member tested positive for COVID-19. A number of restrictions are now in effect for South Court. We continue to work closely with Public Health and Fraser Health, residents, families and staff to ensure the safety and health of all those living and working in this building. And, as always, we continue to do our best to support individual resident needs.

  • Other areas of KinVillage, including our Care Home, North and Vidal Courts, remain COVID-free – 171 days after the public health emergency was first declared in BC on March 17, 2020.
  • Heading into the Labour Day long weekend is a perfect time to express a seriously “BIG THANK YOU!” to all of the staff who work at KinVillage. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated, compassionate, caring and welcoming team. EVERY one who works here has a part in supporting residents to live their lives as fully as possible, including during a time most of us never thought possible. We deeply appreciate our staff for going above and beyond, for always showing up with smiles on their faces, for treating residents with dignity and compassion, for comforting families, for continuing to share a laugh or two, and for making a difference in peoples’ lives.
  • Sincere thanks to our local Thrifty Foods for its kind recognition of all the staff working at KinVillage. Thrifty’s very generously donated lunch, complete with sandwiches and wraps, pop and yummy desserts! Our staff loved it!

Wishing you a happy Labour Day long weekend!
Stay safe!
