Update on South Court COVID-19 Outbreak:
We are very pleased to report that we have not had any new symptomatic/positive cases in both residents and staff of South Court. Everyone is working hard to stop the spread and to support the residents during this difficult time.
We are encouraged by these results but a word of caution as we also know how quickly circumstances can change with this disease.
Restrictive measures continue at this time as directed by the Medical Health Officer
We are happy to announce KinVillage has agreed with the City of Delta to use the KinVillage Community Centre to offer fitness programs starting this October. Our centre, like the City’s McKee and Kennedy, has a large hall which allows space for physical distancing. A number of classes offered by the City will be targeted for seniors. A few of KinVillage’s most popular fitness programs will also be part of the mix.
Pre-registration is required for all City of Delta fitness programs. The schedule may be viewed and registration can be done online at http://www.delta.ca/parks-recreation/sport-recreation/registration or by phoning 604-952-3000 Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Saturday/Sunday, 8 am – 4 pm. Cost for each session is $5. Safety protocols and physical distancing guidelines will be enforced.
In alignment with the two seniors’ centres the City owns – McKee and Kennedy, KinVillage Community Centre remains closed for regular seniors programming until further notice. While we all miss the energy of our Centre and seeing our friends there regularly, the safety of our staff, members, and the public is paramount to us in these uncertain times.
Please visit our online KinVillage Community Centre newsletter for lots of wellness, activity and government resources and links available for new ways to keep busy and active during this time https://kinvillage.org/community-centre/community-centre-newsletters
Sincere thanks this week to our community:
We are very grateful to several organizations and individuals over the last couple of weeks for lifting our assisted living residents and staff spirits with generous and thoughtful gifts! Shirley and Dawn from Tupperware donated cups filled with goodies to our assisted living staff; South Delta Baptist Church wrote handwritten cards individualized to each our residents in assisted living as well as posters thanking all of our staff and a generous donation of colourful homemade masks for all our staff to wear outside of work. Please see the KinVillage website and Facebook page for more pictures!
