Finding information about KinVillage and COVID-19:
We’ve updated our website to provide easily accessible information about all things COVID-related at KinVillage. It includes useful information by program (eg. Care Home, Community Centre) as well as outbreak status, contacts, and resources. Current and previous updates are also available. Check out kinvillage.org.
For those eligible to vote (Canadian citizen, resident of BC for past 6 months), KinVillage can assist South and West Court to obtain mail in voting packages. Early next week, staff will be contacting residents of these two buildings and offering to facilitate their voting process by obtaining a personal mail in package for each resident who would like one and then returning confidential completed ballots to the local Electoral Office prior to election day, October 24th.
Update on South Court COVID-19 Outbreak:
We are relieved to report no new symptomatic/positive cases in residents nor staff have been identified in the past two weeks.
Restrictive measures remain in place, including visits, residents staying in their suites, and each staff member assigned to work on only one floor of the building.
Subject to any new symptomatic/positive cases, and at the discretion of the Medical Health Officer, we remain cautiously optimistic that the outbreak will be declared over, and some restrictions lifted, in mid-October (28 days after the last positive case was confirmed on September 17th).
In collaboration with the City of Delta, fitness programs are scheduled to begin in the Centre next week, on October 5th.
The programs include Line Dancing with Suzanne, Fitness & Strength and Pilates with Beth.
The complete weekly schedule for KinVillage is available online at http://www.delta.ca/parks-recreation/sport-recreation/registration , under “Fitness”, “drop in programs”.
Care Home Social Visits:
Social visits have moved indoors – to either the new visiting room just to the right of West Court’s main entrance, or to the sunroom in Parkview.
We are working to streamline the booking process for these social visits, “glass door visits” (that have been relocated to the door on the west side of the building, to the far right of the main entrance) and virtual visits. More information will be provided to designated visitors and family members early in October.
