South Court Assisted Living COVID-19 Outbreak – Declared Over effective October 16, 2020
We are so happy to announce the outbreak in South Court Assisted Living has been declared over by the Fraser Health’s Medical Health Officer.
KinVillage is appreciative of the support from Fraser Health during this time. The infection prevention specialists, outbreak coordination and staff support were instrumental in helping us manage and now conclude the outbreak.
We have so much gratitude to the true Front Line Heroes – our dedicated staff who faced this life changing challenge with bravery, skill and compassion. Thank You!
Please refer to our website for details on resuming social visits, activities and deliveries.
Care Home Social Visits:
We know how important family/social visits are for care home residents and their visitors and we appreciate your patience as we ensure that all residents can regularly visit with their designated visitors. We are actively recruiting for visitor hosts and look forward to increasing the availability for indoor social visits in addition to glass door visits.
Please send requests for in-person and glass door visits to firstname.lastname@example.org or by leaving a message on our family visitor line 604-943-0155 x 290.
We’ve received enquiries about our Annual Giant Book Sale which would normally be scheduled for the end of January 2021. While we always look forward to hosting this event, and raising much-needed funds for KinVillage, unfortunately due to the pandemic the book sale is cancelled this year. We are unable to accept donations of books, puzzles, and games until further notice.
Although Buenos Dias Café remains closed, we’re delighted that Chef Adrian and Pawvan are now back in the kitchen and offering to the community Take-Out & Catering services. Take out service is available from the outside kitchen door of the building, facing the parking lot, from Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. Drop by then or call Chef Adrian in advance at 778-847-1647. Buenos Dias is offering a 10% discount on purchases $10 and above to KinVillage residents, staff and 2020 Community Centre members. ID card may be requested.
Reminder – Personal Health Checks:
We would like to reiterate Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry’s recent message about the importance of paying close attention to how we are feeling, by doing our own daily personal health checks, and if we are feeling unwell to stay home and away from others. If you have any symptoms, contact 811 or your health care provider to arrange for testing. The health and safety of our residents and staff is our number one priority.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time. We appreciate the continued encouragement of our amazing staff team at KinVillage. Stay safe!
