COVID-19 Update – February 4, 2021

February 4, 2021

Immunization Program:

  • We are anticipating that the second on-site vaccination clinic for Residents of West andSouth Court who received their first dose on January 4 will be scheduled mid-February when it will be 42 daysbetween doses. A communication will be sent out once a date has been confirmed by Fraser Health. This of coursedepends on availability of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine:
“When vaccine supplies are limited, the time between first and second doses will be extended so more people can receive their first dose, increasing the benefit of limited vaccine supplies. The World Health Organization and the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) support up to 42 days between doses.”
-Ministry of Health, Jan 29, 2021
  • Staff who are approaching 42 days between doses are able to book appointments for their 2nd dose at local acute care sites. Getting immunized is another layer of protection along with continued adherence to all Public Health Officer orders and guidelines (e.g. physical distancing, wearing a mask, frequent handwashing) even for those who have received the vaccine.

Care Home Social Visits:

Visits have resumed in the care home and we are so excited to see loved ones back to their regular in-person and glass door visits. Please contact or 604-943-0155 x290 to schedule social visits.

Please stay safe, be kind and thank you for your continued support.

Thank you to South Delta Baptist Church for once again supporting our residents with greeting cards with individual personalized notes to each resident of our care home. They are a joy to give out as the residents so look forward to these special messages. We are also so grateful for a donation from its members’ of $1,000 so each of our Care Home staff can pick up a large pizza from Madhouse Pizza to take home. Thank you so much!
