When completed, KinVilage North Court Redevelopment will provide new affordable homes for older persons.  This housing development is a result of a partnership between the Government of British Columbia and KinVilllage. Located at 1054 - 54A St., KinVillage Apartments will have 145 one-bedroom and seven two-bedroom homes. All units will be adaptable or accessible, allowing the suites to be easily and inexpensively modified to meet residents’ needs as they age. The development will also include 77 parking stalls, amenity and program space, an outdoor rooftop deck with greenspace, as well as scooter, bicycle and storage lockers. The new build will feature a 5,000 square foot Day Program for Older Adults enabling older persons to age in their homes longer while providing respite for their family caregivers.

This phase of the new KinVillage is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to construct an innovative new campus from the ground up to meet the changing needs of an ageing demographic. The new building will allow KinVillage to re-examine housing and care options for older persons living onsite and offer expanded programs and services for seniors living in the community.

The Enhanced Day Program for Older Adults (DPOA) will allow up to 25 seniors a day versus 11 at the current location. This, however, is not capital funded and our goal is to raise $5 million to open the Adult Day Program by 2025. This goal will be achieved from community donations to help raise funds to enhance the care needs of those who need it most in our community and allow for caregiver respite.
